ok, so ive been blessed enough to play my epiarch custom kit (www.epiarchdrums.com) for almost 6 months, but i feel i need something different....

my band is going to do a huge tour this summer, and i feel my satin finish isnt going to be durable enough for the tough times on the road (to the east coast then back to CA).

the setup i have now is 24x18, 12x9, 14x14, 16x16. i dont even use the 14x14 anymore...it just confuses me more and is more to carry.

so im selling this kit, hopefully for another kit kind of like it, but with a more durable finish (wrap or laquor?), and only a 4 piece (but maybe can get add on toms if i want another rack/floor later down the line...)
heres my current kit:
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/?action=view&current=CIMG0024.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/CIMG0024.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/?action=view&current=232819655-M.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/232819655-M.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
after i stopped using the floor tom:
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/?action=view&current=0605082137.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/0605082137.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/?action=view&current=0605082138.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/operation_ivy/0605082138.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
the price is still debatable on this kit, so if anyone wants to throw offers my way, go right ahead =]

but im going to sell this and get one of these kits. more durable, and more my style. and im not going custom again untill i can afford a really high end company.

so the kits ive been looking at are:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=490465
that one looks perfect, and i REALLY like the more rounded bearing edges, but im not sure if i could get another tom later....not that i would want one anytime soon...and i cant say the tom mount is my favorite

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=449394
its got cool finishes, add ons like no other, but ive heard sketchy things about bearing edges and hardware and such..love the tom mount

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=482453
not a virgin kick...dont like the tom mount...add ons probably avaliable.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=490309
comes with a 10" tom...probably will turn that into a side snare like i did with my export 10"

and thats all ive been looking at recently....if anyone has other suggestions im open to them....

thanks in advance,
-Taylor

im sure after playing a custom kit, he wouldnt want to buy a DDrum, he probably wants to go for something a little more high end... and i know that DDrum makes some high end kits, but he probably wants something more customizable.

The Ddrum that he's talkin about IS the highest end Ddrum!

It's a great kit!

I'd go Ddrum or Yamaha!

If you're interested, message me with what you're looking for in a kit and what you're budget is, let's see if I can get you behind a Medicine Man kit.

Go Medicine Man.

By the way, for the Yamaha Tour Custom set if you ever wanted another tom, I think P.J. could make one that matched that finish.

And you could probably replace the mounting hardware.

look at taye drums. their highest end kits sound amazing, and they're cheeeeeap. their hardware is kinda meh, but the drums sound sooo good.

Thats your solution to everything! but its probably the best solution as well...

Man... i couldn't bear to part with that kit you have now. So what do you actually want from your new kit other than more durability?

BBS
Zildjian, Wuhan & Istanbul cymbals
Pearl & Mirage kit.
Crappiato Snare
Steve's Back! ..............kinda

Sell it for a Medicine Man kit. :)

but i think id still owe some money, and im really,....REALLY tight now...i have to fund a tour and pay for my car, and i dont think the cash from selling my epiarch will be enough to cover the medicine man kit..

and i wouldnt be able to get a snare =[
