I'm satisfied but I didn't think Travis Barker Should of won Punk drummer of the year a million times in a row! Jeez it's just a popularity contest.

Both are overrated imo, although I at least have plenty more respect for The Professor as a drummer than I do for Barker (who has got to be the most overrated drummer of all time).

Seems like if your in a popular band everybody thinks you must be a great muisician. Lot of overrated bands out there, musically.

Was anybody really surprised by this? And speaking of punk, wasn't the original purpose of punk the anti-establishment, anti-musician? I mean just a bunch of guys that couldn't play their instruments. It shouldn't be called punk anymore. Punk died back in the 80s, IMO.

i cant help but laugh at everyone who says "travis barker sucks"

honestly, he plays a beat, hes solid, hes not all blasting and 6/8 triplet whatever crap.

he gets the gig by playing not showing off,

Punk is not caring, whether you think it died in the 80's or not,
if your gonna call your self a musician then listen to music,
i think rap is god awful but sometimes they have creative beats.

it seems all that ever goes on here, is constant crap talking and negative opinions of people and the so very often used:

if you dont like what i play or who i like, you suck, because i think im more smart cause i can do a google or wikipedia search to prove my point....

if you dont like a band a drummer or something else not pertained to you, dont post about it. in actuality, you should be playing your drums not flapping your lips on an internet forum,

Based on the fact that Travis Barker has probably inspired countless kids to pick up a pair of sticks, I believe the guy deserves some credit.

Saying that Neil Peart is overrated is, well, incorrect. I am far from a Peart-worshipper, but the man is nothing short of a percussion genius. His contributions to the drumming world throughout his career will always put him in the upper echelon of drumming's elite. Congrat's to Neil and may he continue to play and inspire for many years to come so that future generations will have the opportunity to experience his contributions first hand.

their is no such thing as the best ever, its impossible,

too many different musical styles, yet everyone bashes on those kids who think hes the greatest, but of all people being drummers you should all understand that.

if you dont like my opinions dont listen to them.

but whos paying their bills and living their dream?
