I've seen Rush everytime they've came to the SF Bay Area since 1984, and this year, my girlfriend and I flew out to Toronto to see them at the Air Canada Centre on 9/22/07. What an experience to see them play in their hometown! Neil was definitely at the top of his game, as was Geddy and Alex. It's amazing to see these guys keep defying time. If I play as well as Neil by the time I'm in my 50s, I'll consider my life a success!!:)

I saw them here in Houston on August 14th (I think that's the date). It was awsome!!!!! Loved the drum solo. By far the best one yet. And i've been to 6 including this one. I hope they continue making great music for a long time.

embedding doesn't work on my PC, not sure if it does for others...
so here's the link to the file above (you've all probably already seen it):

His drum sound was so much better than the last 2 tours also...i couldn't get over how good his snare sounded.

I absolutely agree that every tour they take things to a new level. Neil is always reconsidering his approach to his set and he nailed it this year. He ditched his old Edge snare, instead went with the solid maple VLT. And the kick... So Neil Peart wants the puch of a 22" with the boom of a 24". What does he do? He gets a 23" kick drum. I love it.
The truth is not wide.

same here. now that would have been cool!

but yeah, Neil is an amazing drummer, that's clearly presented in all of his work, but I personally admire David Husvik (Extol) because feet-work is where it's at for me. I define a drummer by the insanly technical foot-work they can do.
