I know he has been discussed before, but what the hell! This guy has some rediculous ability. I've been listening to Rewind That by Christian Scott recently and damn does he have some musicality. I'm sure a lot of folks are drooling over his work with the Mars Volta but i strongly suggest checking this album out.

Yeah check out his Drum jam with Thomas Lang on www.drumchannel.com. He's on fire. Can't believe he was a child prodigy like Tony Royster Jr, receiving a Zildjian endorsement at age 12.

Thomas Pridgen is really talented and all, but he doesn't fit with The Mars Volta too well, although his drumming on Octahedron was flawless and meshed well with the music.
Gretsch Catalina Maple-------> 22" x 18" bass, 10" x 8" and 12" x 9" toms, 14" x 14" floor tom, 16" x 16" floor tom, 6" x 14" snare.

Zildjian A Customs-------> 20" ride, 16" crash, 18" fast crash, 14" hi-hats.

I disagree. I think Jon Theodore's playing meshes with the parts better.

I have to agree with Alan on that. Pridgen is great with Volta but Theodore fit better. I like pridgen's work with Christian Scott much more.

with volta, it feels like everybody's following omar when pridgen plays, including pridgen. with theodore, they sound more like a unit.

I think they're both great, seems like they're doing well.
