I've always thought that Hoglan and Reinert's playing were superior to that of Christy.

In all honesty, they probably are. I just like Christy's style much more. It's a very jazzy, groovy, proggy feel IMO and I love that in drums

You should check out Sean Reinert then. He's an incredibly jazzy player.

He's played with Death, Cynic, Gordian Knot, and loads of other notable Prog acts.

Might want to check out Steve Flynn of Atheist too.

Thanks man, I've really been getting into prog lately. And Iron Maiden again lol. But back to prog. They're just such talented musicians. Except Dream Theater's singer, but I'm not gonna go there 8)

to ressurect an old topic, I FOUND A MISTAKE! Empyrean, Hoglan didn't play on Lack Of Comprehension, Sean Reinert of Cynic played on the entire Human album. Sorry to be a douche, but it had to be said! haha

I know Sean Reinert played on Human, didn't mean to imply otherwise.

Remind me sunday if you can. They're on my list of stuff to listen to, and I don't usually get through that list quickly. Just last saturday I finally got around to Strapping Young Lad and they've been on for a LONG time.
