It's still an extension spring set up. Compression is the way to go.

A double runs about $700, I think singles run for ~$335 each.

Considering what is available below that price point, it kind of is...

They already gave the prices above.

By the way, I saw the NAMM video for these pedals, and they are SEXY. They may actually give Axis and Trick a run for their money.

idk about that. it looks like a real legit pedal. gotta play one to be sure but if its as good as it looks than it might just be worth the price

Its price point is essentially directly between Axis and Trick, so I would say that it really isn't a competitor for either company.

I meant quality and appeal. The thing looks damn cool, and it looks like it should work pretty good. Here's the link to the video

wow what a great salespitch! It seems they put a lot of thought into making it a better pedal. The clamp for example...
The wooden beater is somewhat isolated from it's shaft. The guy says you don't feel that 'sting' anymore, but I can imagine that 'sting' is just the feedback of the pedal. Just like wooden sticks have a vibration in them on wich you could argue that it's bad for your wrists. But that stick 'talks' to you trough that same vibration, letting you know what it's doing so you can keep control over it... In other words, I'm curious about the feeling of the beater, if it makes a real differance and wether you don't miss out on feedback from your pedal...

The Speed King is the first pedal that converts from long board to hinged, not the Demon Drive

First off, HOLY CRAP ZEN IS BACK!

Also that speed king is really interesting, it looks like it would switch really easily.
