I've got both the Pro1v and Dominator, and the action on both is very smooth and positive. Both pedals' footboards 'stick' to my foot, so the response is intimate and immediate. Basically, they do whatever my foot (thinks it) can do.

The Dominator has less metal - no heel plate (so it's kind of like a short Bigfoot) and no base plate - and feels like it flies a bit better that the Pro1v. There are some mechanical differences as well, and one less adjustment (no extra holes for the footboard attachment to the 'strap' - there are 3 on the Pro1v and they do make a difference.) But the new pedal feels great, I'm using it in town (but still the Pro1v on the road) and I love it. It comes with a great aluminum beater. Nice oomph without pushing much weight.

The cost on the Dominator is much less than the Pro1v, to compete better with the DW9000. Interestingly, Pearl's new Demon pedal is very nice, maybe one of the 3 hottest pedals on the market, but has a list of about $500 like the Pro1v. I think a lot of drummers will be steered to either of the Tricks as an alternative for those who aren't willing to spend the money, as well as those who are. Why spend $325 on the Pearl when the real deal (Pro1v) can be had for the same amount?

The Dominator was another pedal I tried yesterday, but to my foot the Trick Pro1 was the winner. The more I think about it, I really should have gotten it yesterday and not take the usual two or three months for me to decide on something, lol. :D

hasn't dissappointed me yet..

I personally think it's the best pedal out there.. blows axis right out of the water in every way. Only gripe I have with it is it's shiney and will show scratchs on it easily
