dang. I never had that happen with a DW. I have broken the casting that the beater sits in on two speed kings though.

I've seen quite a few pictures like this, enough that they can't ALL be dismissed as user error. They were all 5000s, and I don't know if they changed footboard design or manufacturing techniques.
I broke a footboard on a stock pearl pedal because the wingnut for the bass drum clamp was wearing through the bottom. I bolted it back together with a steel plate, eventually traded them for the OLD quadbeater powershifters

I have actually seen 3 snapped foot boards personally, 1 on a dw 9000 and 2 on pearl eliminators. one guy brought them all into a store. he was a beast player but I don't know how you break that many foot boards...I haven't done it and don't plan on it but I also don't slam on my gear either. of all the old camco design style pedals the only ones I've never seen a snapped foot board on is the iron cobras.

Thanks for posting that. Thats just incredible.

My guess is DW would replace that for free. I have had superb customer service with them even after my warranty expired. They seem to be pretty good that way.

The Axis pedals were the worst pedals I've ever played, they have no feel to them whatsoever, in my opinion. Hated them.couldn't wait to get rid of them.

Iron cobras all the way.

haha

Enjoy them dude.

£260 is a great price btw...they retail at like £370

Lol how long did you spend on the Axis?

You know there's a major adjustment period right?

Thanks for posting that. It was an interesting and informative read, though I didnt read all 60+ pages. Im pretty confident I would never break a footboard, but if I did, Ive got spares until I could get DW to replace it.

Howie. The guy said he didnt like the pedal and he gave a reason why. Cant it just be left at that? If he hates them, that is valid. I dont see that as dissing them. He likes Cobras....fair enough and good for him. You dont know how long he spent trying to get use to them. What is a proper adjustment period to him may not be the same as yours. Accept that and move on with it. You like Axis....fair enough. Your opinion is duly noted on this board.

Please dont get this thread locked and deleted.

I'm still reading that thread. it's pretty darn awesome. several pages in the original poster makes a frankenpedal from ic and pearl parts. there's soooo much info in that thread.

Yeah but he's dissing on them and never gave them the proper chance.

It's personal preference, I know I normally go for something I like the feel of straight away rather than something I think I have to adapt to. That way i know it suits how I play.

I can't see the photos of the Franken Pedal! I wanna see this thing, haha

Though technically, the OP is Frankendrummer, and the pedal is his monster :D
