if I were you, I would go with clear emperors for the toms instead of the coated ones. I've used both, and like the clears more, a bit more "open" sound.

I would also say the same for the kick. go with the clear powerstroke 3.

Try a coated emperor or powerstroke on your snare. CS heads tend to sound a bit weird to me. Something about having the extra layer just in the middle chokes the sound a tiny bit imo.

I use coated remos and I love em. I feel like they cut a little volume and openess as compared to clear heads tho.

I've never been a fan of coated bass drum heads. They're cool for that vintage sound but for the most part I just dont like em. If your playing metal and fast double bass I dont think youd benefit from coated heads as compared to clear

I've got Clear Emperors and they sound awesome and are durable. The PowerStroke 3 is also an awesome head.

What are some good Remo resos that will really let the drum sustain?

remo? go with ambassadors. clear. pretty much standard issue.
