I'm curious to see what kind of heads people are using on acrolite snares. I usually use a coated Emperor. Right now I have an Emperor-X on it but I think it sounds like crap. Looking to try something new.

Coated Ambassador top & Ambassador snare side, both tensioned fairly tightly. I've used a Ludwig heavy coated Weathermaster top & Ludwig x-thin bottom as well with good results.

Aquarian Hi-Performance snare side and Texture Coated single ply batter side, with one MoonGel at 1:00 and about 1/2" from the bearing edge.

Coated 1-ply on batter (fave is Remo Ambassador) over a clear 2-3mil reso (Ludwig WeatherMaster is my fave). Acros are kind of dry, so a lively head helps balance it out.
