Vintage LUDWIG bass and snare '20's & '30's era!

Postby Olimpass » Sat Aug 09, 2008 3:49 am

A friend of mine bought a used Pacific 5pc. kit for $400 for drummers to show up to practices without having to lug a kit over. The seller threw in these! A vintage '20's era painted calf skin bass drum and a '30's era parallel strainer snare drum w/wood hoops!.... also thrown in were those 3 blue vistalight toms left of the bass drum pic. I think he really made out on an excellent deal.

The snare drum is worth more than the pacific kit!

Yes, thank you! My friend really made out because at the previous Chicago drum show I saw a gentleman that had a similar snare on display ($1400) but without the wood hoops and he said he believed the one I explained to him was a Ray Mckinley edition snare, with the wood hoops, valued at about $1000-$1200!

He really did get a steal.

Including those Vistalight toms, phew, he made out great for $400.
