I'm sure there are from the same era. Possible the same year. Yours even has the matching snare. Cool.

When the Beatles became popular, this kit sold like hotcakes. It was the Pearl Export of the 1960's.

nice vintage luddys...
love the matching pedals

I get nervous just looking at that hardware, looks like a gust of wind could take that whole kit out...:)

i have an old late 60s - ealry 70s 18in avedis crash/ride type cymbal. im not too sure on what it is, crash or ride. the only markings are the engravings, Zildjian AVEDIS 18in with the typical stuff on that one. didnt like it so i let my girlfriend paint it for me. sounded kinda dead to me. its not a nice wall ornament.

Ludwig 1976 Pro Beat drum kit as far as I know. Don't know much about it. All I know is John Bonham had the same kit but he had a 26" bass drum where as mine's 24".

1972 fibes kit

Postby bobbie » Sun Jul 01, 2007 4:42 pm

this is a 1972 fibes smoke acyrlic kit. it's a nine piece, 22 bass, 2-16 floor toms, 2-14, 2-13 toms, 51/2 by 14 snare. these sound awesome, even better through mic's. the only draw back is they are heavy! also in the set i have a pair of 1968 zil. a hihats, 18 in zil. a crash ride, 16 in zil. a crash, 2-14 in paiste crash and a couple of old speedking pedals.

I have a Fibes set from sometime in the 70’s, not really sure about when. It’s from Nashville’s Grand Ole’ Opry. My Aunt worked and when I wanted to play drums back in the day she talked to someone and next thing you know…Merry Christmas!
