As some of you may know I am not just a drummer but also a Cop and have been for 17 years. This morning I lost a Deputy in the line of duty. This is the second time in my career that I have lost an Officer that I have trained, which makes it more personal. Deputy Darrel Lane is a US Army SF Veteran and my friend. Not to mention...he was one hell of a Cop. While involved in a car and foot pursuit Darrel began fighting with 3 thugs. He was able to get one into custody but then suffered a heart attack and died on scene. Please say a prayer for my friend and fallen Brother. Rest in Peace Darrel! And I know your response....Roger Sarge! Peace and love.

So he caught one of the thugs and just had a heart attack on the spot?

Wow, that's terrible.

I salute to you and your deputy Stump.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family. I've lost 2 members of my Ranger team that I trained with and fought alongside with and it's never easy, one being a suicide which is especially hard.

My condolences. Was he in bad physical shape or something?

You know the scary part Scott...he was in top physical shape, strong and having run with him, had great endurance. He was a retired Special Forces operator in the US Army. 41 Years old. The coroner's report revealed that he had an undetected heart condition. I appreciate eveyone's thought's as well does our family. Peace on ya guys!
