Ike Wister Turner (November 5, 1931 – December 12, 2007) was an American musician, bandleader, talent scout and record producer, best known for his work with his former wife Tina Turner as one half of the Ike & Tina Turner duo. Spanning a career that lasted half a century, Ike's repertoire included blues, soul, rock and funk. Alongside his former wife, he was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and in 2001 was inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. Turner died at 76 years old, at his home in San Marcos, California, near San Diego.

Don't mistake linking someone's accomplishments with their personal life
If that was the case then I would suggest you take all of your Led Zeppelin albums and throw them away because, by your criteria, Jimmy Page is a pedophile
Ozzy beat Sharon so get rid of all Black Sabbath and Solo albums
Tommy Lee beat his wive(s) so get rid of all Motley Crue albums (no one owns any Methods Of Mayhem anyways)
And so on and so on
Get the point?

Ike Turner was the consumate professional and an amazing guitar player who helped combine early RnB/Blues with Pop and Rock (yeah, I know rock is derived from blues anyways)
Ike ,Tina and the Ike-ettes put on one of the most amazing shows of their time
You say irritant, I say catalyst

Great point Rockula! You can respect and admire someone's work, and not have to like the way they live their lives. The way someones lives their life is really none of my buisness. And let's face it musicians aren't exactly boy scouts anyway. We all listen to musicians who are or have been hooked on drugs, beat their wives, alcoholics, etc... Just because the media hounded this man more than the rest don't make him any worse than the rest.

I'll third that. I hate Michael Jackson with a passion, but I still love his older music.

Right on. JR was great at that straight up metronomic dance beat style. I really dig MJ's old stuff too.
