a sticky in the drum set section for beginners buying a kit. i feel like theres a new thread for this almost every day.

a section on hand drumming.

a "drumming 101" section which would be a compilation of information deemed important or "need to know" by the older or more experienced cats. this could/should include a GLOSSARY which should include slang and acronyms, a link or transcription of the drum tuning bible, a rundown of different woods used and their sonic properties, a general cymbal guide covering how size and thickness affect sound and things of that nature, little tricks of the trade, and other stuff that i cant think of off the top of my head. basically, a one stop shop where a beginner-intermediate drummer can get a wealth of information that isnt necessarily common knowledge or where more informed drummers can learn a little something new.

I've just had a nice little idea. It just occurred to me how we're all playing shows and probably someone doing a show every single day from this forum. What about a gig listing section so people can look up shows in their area and go check out fellow DML'ers chopping wood?

Kind of like a one stop shop for gig listings and we could connect with GML and BML etc.

Maybe something like this...

Region - "South UK"
"SomaHigh" DML-Rob Crisp, Indie/Rock, Sat. 12th April @ Southampton Joiners.
"The Fins" DML-Lozza323_uk, Indie, Thurs. 29 May @ Waterats London.
"Cunjoured" GML-Fiction, Funk/Soul/R'n'B, Sunday 1st June @ fat Ted's Basingstoke.

Obviously nicer to read than just a list, but it's a thought!

I'd like to catch other members playing.

I really hate how if you click anywhere in the box of a topic, it clicks to topic. I would prefer it if you had to click on the actual text

Shogun

good idea, I second that.

I third that man. Shogun tends to be full of good ideas. A views thing would be awesome.

i 4th, i was reading through this section just looking for someone to have said this, have a view count for each thread

What if we added a Band Management section where we could talk each other through difficult situations, recommendations for getting gigs or getting your band out there etc...
Mapex Saturn: Six Piece Laser Ivory
Ludwig pedal (soon to be upgraded)
Pearl/Ludwig Hardware
Sabian B8s (Hopefully soon to be Saludas)
