Ive been listening to metal, rock, electronica, rap and etc. but ive really never listened to Punk Rock (except Blink 182). Can someone tell me like great punk bands from the 70s - 90's that i should listen to, and also tell me some great punk rock singles.

Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Bouncing Souls, Subhumans (UK), The Adicts, Agnostic Front, Vice Squad, Battalion of Saints, Crass, Cro Mags, Murphys Law, Jerry's Kids, Gang Green, D.O.A, The Ramones, Discharge, Varukers, The Exploited, G.B.H, Middle Class, Minor Threat, The Misfits, Oi Polloi, The Descendants, Sick of it All, Social Distortion, SS Decontrol. Toxic Narcotic, US Bombs, U.K Subs.

Some newer bands you should check out are The Krum Bums, Everybody Out, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Casualties, The Briggs, Street Dogs, Strike Anywhere, Orange, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies, Leftover Crack, Morning Glory, Chocking Victim, Roger Miret and The Disasters, The Real Mckenzies.

I could also recommend a number of lesser known and local bands that are really good as well.

and for the record, Blink 182 is not really a punk band :)

Did anybody mention the Plasmatics or The Stranglers?

Armand Schaubroeck Steals was the Grandfather of Punk.

And since I'm getting all esoteric on you we mustn't forget MC5
