i have heard it many times like on country shuffle by rod morgenstein when he played with the dixie dregs but i want to know is it just
RLRL RBLB. kinda like that but the two bass drum notes are kinda connected with the toms? is that the right way to play it?

I'm not familiar with the playing. Do you have a particular song in mind?
"If the goal is for me to give up my reality for your reality, then the goal is for me to give up my self for your self--a goal I have to reject."

You're welcome. Make sure you practice slow.

Something like...

SSSS T1T1KK T2T2KK T3T3KK
1e&a...

(S = Snare, T1 = First rack tom, and so on, K = Kick.)
"If the goal is for me to give up my reality for your reality, then the goal is for me to give up my self for your self--a goal I have to reject."

Lol, if it was Rod Morgenstein with the Dregs, chances are, whatever it was, it was definitely a fill.

Sometimes if I do the sextuplet one I'll do it as a double stroke roll between right, left and right foot.

They're all real fills. And the only things that are "right" are playing them in time and playing them tastefully...and that last one is even subjective.
"If the goal is for me to give up my reality for your reality, then the goal is for me to give up my self for your self--a goal I have to reject."
