A really harrowing story here.
Lastnite I discovered I lost all my cymbals. I turned up to band practice and unloaded the car, put the gear in the lift and proceeded to setup, then i realized i had no cymbal bag, started looking about the room and went down to the car, no cymbals.

Cold sweat starts to set in. I hadnt taken my gear out of the car since the last practice so I didnt realize. I reckon I drove off without them. Gonna have a look at the CCTV outside the place though. Its a real kick in the nuts all the same.
About £800 worth in the bag, plus a brand new Sabain AA crash that had only been played once!!!

Any one here left there gear behind somewhere?

I'm sorry to hear of your misfotune.
Never left anything behind yet.
But I dread it, that's why I do the 'idiot check'.(No offence intened).
This is when you think you've loaded everything into the truck.......
Then you go back and check the stage again for stray equipment.

I really hope you recover your cymbals.

Good luck.Henry.

I've never lost any equipment but i have dropped it! I had a brand new Roland spd 20 and as i was unloding, it slid off something and crashed to the floor, and as i lunged for it, i dropped my cymbals and sticks everywhere. *CRASHHH*. yeah everyone was laughing at me, and now i have a really scuffed up drum machine (which i only use as a percussion instrument attatched to my kit) kinda sucks as it was brand new and shiny!

Thats sucks about your cymbals man, id really be kicking myself about that! Hope you found them/Got new ones!

Hey guy, sorry to hear that you left your stuff behind. I've never done that but have come close. I do an idiot check and have a check list of what I bring in. It's the only way I can keep track. Good luck.

Checklists help a LOT if you have a large setup or are generally forgetful.

That's great man. I would make a check list though for the future. Congrats on the find.

Outstanding!

Now get in the habit of making a mental checklist for your gear every time you load/unload. Every time. The worst that's happened to me was forgetting my stick bag for an audition and forgetting my band shoes on a DisneyLand trip.

Glad it worked out.

Every time I get ready for the load out.......... I like to break everything down myself. I like to case it up myself..........and I like it to get to at least the back door, without any distrative help.

And once loaded.........a last go round walk through. Surprising what you find of yours after everything has been put away.
